The cooling water jacket is cast in the cylinder head and cylinder block of the diesel engine. After the water pump pressurizes the cooling liquid, the cooling liquid calms the water jacket of the cylinder through the water distribution pipe. The colleague of the cooling fluid absorbed the heat of the cylinder wall, the temperature rose, then flowed into the cylinder head water jacket, and entered the water pipe through the thermostat and radiator. At the same time, the rotating suction force of the fan enters the radiator, and the air is blown out through the radiator core, so the heat of the cooling liquid flowing through the radiator core is continuously radiated to the atmosphere, and the temperature is reduced. Finally, after being pressurized by the water pump, it again flows into the water jacket of the cylinder, so the cycle continues and the engine speed increases. In order to uniformly cool the front and rear cylinders of a multi-cylinder diesel engine, usually, a diesel engine is equipped with a water distribution pipe or a cast water distribution chamber in the cylinder. The water distribution pipe is a metal pipe and generates oil heat in the length direction of the water hole. The larger the water pump, the closer the cooling strength of the front and rear cylinders is, and the entire machine is evenly cooled.

Most Volvo diesel generators use forced circulation water cooling systems. That is, the water pump is used to increase the pressure of the cooling medium. The volume of this cooling system is much smaller than the volume of natural circulation, and the cooling of the upper and lower cylinders is more uniform.

The water cooling system is also equipped with a water temperature sensor and a water thermometer. The water temperature sensor is installed on the water outlet pipe of the cylinder head, and the water temperature of the water outlet pipe of the river is transmitted to the water temperature meter. The operator can use the water temperature gauge to know the working condition of the cooling system at any time. Normal working water temperature is usually 80-90 ° C. Coolant and anti-cold night, the coolant used in diesel engines should be clean soft water. If hard water is used, the minerals in it will settle and attach to pipes, water jackets and radiator cores at high temperatures to generate scale and reduce heat dissipation. The ability to easily overheat the diesel engine will also poison the radiator core and accelerate the wear of the pump impeller and pump casing. Hard water with more minerals needs to be softened before it can be added to the cooling system. A common method for softening hard water is to add 0.5-1.5g of sodium carbonate to 1L of water. If the articles are precipitated, the generated impurities are precipitated in 0.5-0.8g of sodium hydroxide, and the purified water is injected into the cooler. system
